At State Of The Arf we ensure all pets in our care are vaccinated and to our best knowledge free of any transmittable diseases. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations are required prior to pet services are offered. (This protocol is for all services, some contagious diseases are airborne and can be transferred through our staff due to touching an infected pet so this is very important!)
Dogs:.
DHPP + B + R
Distemper
Hepatitis
Parvovirus
Parainfluenza
Bordetella (Kennel Cough, must request to most vets)
Rabies (either 1 year or 3 year)
Heartworm test (Anytime after April) & Heartworm medications (May - October)
Stool test every 2 years
Cats:.
FVRCP + L (outdoor only) + R
Feline Rhinotrachetitis
Calicivirus
Panleukopenia
Chlamydiosis
Feline Leukemia (must request at most vets)
Rabies (either 1 year or 3 year)
Flea collar or flea prevention medication (May - October outdoor cats)
Stool test (outdoor cats only)
These vaccines are usually combined into one vaccine visit and part of your pets annual appointment. Only Bordetella (dogs) and Leukemia (cats) are separate and usually need to be requested to the veterinarian in order to receive it. Please make sure your pet is vaccinated accordingly..
Things to bring for boarding:.
Pet food/Treats - We recommend owners to bring their own pet food because if diet it switched dramatically this can cause the pet to have an upset stomach. (We have pet food and treats as well at no extra charge if you'd rather ours)
Bed/Blanket - To make your pet more comfortable, you can bring their bed, blanket and/or a shirt you have worn. The scent from home is known to decrease the stress level.
Your Pet - Hmm...thats important!
This page is created to ensure your pet is safe and comfortable. Please read our company medical requirements and some tips on how to make your pet's stay with us less stressful.
